Inaugural Movie Poll

Also, Casey's movie watching history is highly questionable.

Well, it’s official. The early members of Molly Movie Club have made several very respectable suggestions for our first movie, and two perhaps-not-as-respectable ones.

It turns out I have seen precisely the two not-as-respectable ones. Is Anna Rettberg quietly judging me? It is very possible.

But really, it’s not as bad as I’m making it sound. After we’d already made this comic and a draft of the post, movie club member Kenny still Alive added “Gattaca” to the running. That seems like a respectable movie, doesn’t it? And I have seen that one!

So thank you, Kenny. You saved me from a very embarrassing situation.

Now on to the business at hand. The movie suggestions for our inaugural movie, in alphabetical order, were:

• Hard Ticket to Hawaii [1 vote so far]

• Hunt for the Wilderpeople [3 votes so far]

Now, I would love to have a nice little poll widget here where everyone can vote. In fact, I thought you could put one of those in Substack. But upon searching, it turns out you can’t actually do that. The best you can do is embed a third-party thing, and we’re not going to do that kind of nonsense!

I’ve asked Substack if that might be on the horizon - hopefully it is - but in the meantime, let’s just do this the old fashioned way: everyone who would like to vote, please post your vote as a comment! I’ll tally them up and post the count.
