Late to this one, but I love this movie, especially on my second watch. I came into it essentially expecting a series of vignettes, which I don't think it's what Spielberg wanted to make, but it did work for me. There are just so many scenes I love, like him editing the family trip, him imagining how he would shoot his parent's divorce, young Sammy projecting his home movie on his own hand, the shoot for the war movie, the ending, and many others. Spielberg is just a master of the cinematic medium.
